Hastings Direct has signed a £10m deal with Banner Managed Communication (BMC) for BMC to manage its insurance documentation.

The contract includes management of the print and fulfillment of the documentation across Hastings’ four core insurance portfolios - private car, van, motorbike and home insurance.

The anticipated value of the contract is around £10m over a five-year (three years initial, plus two year extension option) term.

Hastings Direct customer management director Lance Bennett said: “We have set ourselves the ambitious goal of insuring one in every ten of the UK population by the year 2020. This means scaling up our already extensive print requirements without compromising efficiency, quality or cost-effectiveness. That’s why now is the right time for us to move from an in-house to outsourced document production and fulfillment.

“BMC is perfectly positioned to manage these processes on our behalf. They have an immense depth of knowledge and experience within the insurance sector and an implicit understanding of our ambitions.”

BMC managing director Catherine Burke said: “We’re really pleased to be working with Hastings Direct and are looking forward to helping them achieve the clear goals they’ve set out for the future.

“The innovations and technologies that we’ll be implementing will enable the business to handle the anticipated increase in the volume of work over the coming years, while delivering even higher quality and greater accuracy.“
