John E Robison also takes up the role of vice-president

HCC Insurance Holdings has named John E Robison as its new vice-president and head of investments.

Robison joins HCC from Ecova where he was chief investment manager and treasurer and will report to chief financial officer Brad T Irick.

Robison has more than 19 years’ experience in investment management, having previously worked at RLI Corporation, National Interstate Corporation and Westfield Companies.

Irick said: “We are very pleased John has joined HCC to lead our investing activities. He has extensive investment management experience, most of which he has gained within the insurance industry.

“With HCC’s investment portfolio approaching $7bn, it is an ideal time to add a dedicated investment professional with John’s credentials to our financial management team.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
