Broker extends partnership with charity

Heath Lambert has extended its partnership with The Stroke Association to offer a new suite of travel products for stroke survivors, their families, carers and supporters.

The product will offer more choice for the Association’s supporters with two levels of cover - platinum and gold. Both of these provide cover for all pre-existing medical conditions and disabilities and are available as single and annual travel insurance.

The Stroke Association is the only UK wide charity solely concerned with combating stroke in people of all ages. Every year an estimated 150,000 people in the UK have a stroke. Of all people who are affected from a stroke, about a third are likely to die within the first 10 days, about a third are likely to make a recovery within one month and about a third are likely to be left disabled and needing rehabilitation.

Diane Caplehorn, Associate Director for Heath Lambert Insurance Services, said: “A quarter of a million people are living with a long-term disability as a result of a stroke in the UK. With the economic climate still unpredictable and consumers tightening their belts, we wanted to offer real choice and give The Stroke Association’s supporters the option to pick what cover they really need when travelling. As a broker, we want to make sure the cover matches the needs of people affected by stroke and they are not paying more than they need.”

Monika Milne, Commercial Ventures Development Manager at The Stroke Association, said: “The Stroke Association is pleased to be working with Heath Lambert on The Stroke Association Insurance Services. Over the years we have been able to offer a real practical benefit and reassurance for stroke survivors and their families and carers knowing that travelling with our policy all their pre-existing medical conditions are covered and with our new package we are able to offer even more choice and comprehensive cover to suit their needs.”
