Richard Kiddle places insurance in the agriculture and farms, motor and commercial market

Broker Henderson has bought the commercial and personal lines books of business from Peterborough-based firm Richard Kiddle Insurance Brokers.

The acquisition means that the Henderson’s Peterborough office will now control annual gross written premiums (GWP) of £10m.

Richard Kiddle places insurance in the agriculture and farms, motor and commercial market.

The decision to sell the book of business was made by Richard Kiddle’s wife, Ginnie, after her husband passed away.

Henderson chief executive Joe Henderson said: “Richard Kiddle’s death has undoubtedly had a huge impact on the people who knew him, but we hope to be able to help create a positive legacy in his memory.

“Richard Kiddle Insurance Brokers is a great little business that I believe has similar roots to those of HIBL when I started it almost 30 years ago. To have been trusted by Richard’s widow with his book of business is a significant responsibility and I’m confident that we will demonstrate that she made the right decision.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
