Hiscox is to roll out its online claims management system across the UK, as part of a planned expansion of the system.

Hiscox Claims Management System (CMS) is designed to increase efficiency in claims handling and to give brokers instant access to information on the status of claims, said Hiscox.

Using the new system, brokers will be able to check the status of a claim, and view any documentation related to it, as well as process claims online once they have he proper authorisation, said Hiscox.

All brokers will be able to use the system to lodge requests for information or action with Hiscox claims underwriters, which appear automatically on workflows.

Hiscox also said it was testing the feasibility of allowing end customers access to the system in order to view their own claim.

Angus Watson, claims and customer services manager, said the new system was not designed to replace dedicated claims handlers, but to complement their work.
