A farm insurance provider is using the internet to cut premium costs.

Northampton-based Hammon Osborne (HO) is offering Farmshield, underwritten by Royal & SunAlliance, which reduces premiums by up to 30% while simultaneously speeding up the administration process.

The cover enables farms to add, remove or change items throughout the year without the need for notification, in a single policy.

Application and processing can be handled on-line through a web site which calculates premiums based upon the combination of revenue, acreage and motor vehicles.

A 24-hour on-line function allows self-management of policies for increased efficiency.

HO operates Farmshield through its underwriting manager HOAG.
