HSA said it has joined forces with Bristol-based private medical insurer(PMI) BCWA.
BCWA provides PMI through brokers to individuals and companies, with a market share of 2%.
HSA said the acquisition would give it a 3% market share of the PMI market.
The group predicts that turnover will grow to approximately £275m, placing it in the top 40 general insurers in the UK.
