Ovenden new chief executive of IRM
The Institute of Risk Management's (IRM) court of governors has appointed David Ovenden as acting chief executive.

Ovenden, a former underwriter, broker and Association of Insurance and Risk Managers chairman, will start a six-month contract on June 29.

The position became open after current chief executive Maureen Gibbins tendered her resignation, having decided not to return from maternity leave.

Underwriting system gets upgrade
RISK Management Solutions has upgraded its underwriting system for personal and commercial property insurers.

The upgraded version is called Riskbrowser v3.0 and will give underwriters greater flexibility, ease of use and improved analytical capabilities.

Riskbrowser provides decision support information such as earthquake and hurricane pure premiums, loss estimates by return premium, flood zone data, distance to coast or nearest fault and windpool determination.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
