The eXchange is launching three product databanks on its eXweb service. They will focus on pensions, critical illness and mortgage endowments to complement its existing PHI, investment bond and term assurance products. The eXchange gives IFAs on-line information on a range of products from all the major providers in these product areas. For example, there are 101 personal pension plans from 38 providers, 70 term critical illness contracts from 28 providers, and 30 mortgage endowment policies from 21 providers.

Denham launch health facility
Lloyd's syndicate Denham has launched a new facility for medical malpractice/ public liability, which it claims is the first of its kind for ten years. The new operation, backed by a panel of Lloyd's underwriters, provides £20m limit of cover for all sectors of the healthcare market where an exposure to malpractice exists. This can include clinics, public and private hospitals, doctors and clinicians. Denham syndicate 990 underwriter Peter Watson said: "While we have been involved in market facilities in the past, this is the first new major malpractice facility to become available in something like 10 years within the Lloyd's market."

First C&G launch is home policy
Household insurer Congregational & General has launched its first product, KC Nest, since joining the Key Choice panel. The policy will be a new bedroom-rated home with a range of added-value benefits, including an extensive number of helplines providing assistance with domestic emergencies and medical advice. The policy covers up to £40,000 sum insured on contents; accidental damage cover as standard; unspecified personal possessions and money cover automatically provided within the contents section; automatic increase in cover for the Christmas period and weddings; personal liability up to £2m; and employer's liability up to £10m. Paul Moran, sales and marketing director of Congregational and General, said: "With its competitive rating, we are confident that members will find this product attractive for their clients."

New Expo travel cover
Event insurer Insurex Expo-Sure has launched a low-cost group travel policy. The group travel policy safeguards members of staff who cannot travel to either exhibitions, seminars, sales conferences or staff-incentive programmes through sickness, accidents or delays beyond their control. The policy includes up to £3,000 cancellation cover, £1,500 baggage and personal money cover, personal liability and medical cover as well as travel delay compensation. Premium cost per traveller is approximately £8.67 for a 3-day European cover.
