Ink Insurance has hired two new underwriters to fuel its expansion in the solicitors' professional indemnity market.

The two lead underwriters, Angus Ogg and Sam Kemp have joined from St Mary Underwriting.

Ink managing director Mike Smith said: "We are delighted that Angus and Sam have joined us to further develop our offering for the 2011 solicitors’ PI season.

"They bring with them a wealth of experience in underwriting this sector of the market and have already begun to work with the team to help us formulate our plans to further enhance our offering from last year."

Ink launched a new solicitors' PI product last year to its 1000 brokers. Ink is currently looking for new capacity, as reported by Insurance Times last week.

Smith added: "Following the success of last year; we are investing heavily to ensure that we have the systems and the underwriting knowledge to allow us not only to retain our book but also grow significantly in 2011."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
