Michael Stoddart, a policyholder with Eclipse at Lloyd's, must have thought he was suffering hearing, not eyesight, problems following the eclipse.
The company gave him a year's free insurance to thank him for his loyacustom – he has been with Eclipse since 1969.
A startled Mr Stoddart said: “The company wilundoubtedly be around at the time of the next totaeclipse in 2090, but neither my car nor I wilbe.”
Especially if he keeps getting shocks like that.
