Three major insurance providers have teamed up to streamline the application process for taking out immediate care plans.

BUPA, Lifetime Care, and Norwich Union agreed to implement the new single application process to reduce administration time and costs, and to ensure clients get a speedier decision.

Completion of a single questionnaire will enable Independent Financial Advisers to obtain the best terms from the participating providers.

Once completed, the questionnaire is sent to an independent medical processing body, Medicals Direct Screening Limited, which obtains a single medical report for the specified providers.

The process has been developed in association with long-term care IFA firm, Future Care Assured.

Graham Turner from Future Care Assured commented: "Care fees planning at the time of need is always stressful for our clients and their family. I am delighted at the response from the product providers and the constructive approach adopted by them. This has resulted in a new, streamlined system that will provide considerable savings in time and effort for both IFAs and their clients."
