The International Underwriting Association (IUA) has appointed Len Messenger as chairman for its Marine Technical Committee (MTC).
Messenger, energy underwriter at Zurich Global Energy, takes over from Graham Hensman, marine underwriter at Allianz Marine and Aviation.
The committee reports directly to the IUA board, and is also responsible for overseeing the association's marine clauses committee as well as a number of joint market underwriting and claims committees.
Messenger is already the MTC's representative on the London Market's Joint Rig Committee and a member of the International Union of Maritime Insurers (IUMI) Executive Committee, said the IUA.
He was appointed chairman of the MTC at the committee's August meeting.
