Car manufacturer Jaguar has agreed to recommend Tracker's latest anti-theft systems to customers on a range of its models.

The deal follows the discovery that one of Tracker's last generation of anti-theft systems led to the recovery of a Jaguar S series car stolen last month in Manchester. The car was eventually found abandoned.

The new Tracker Monitor which costs £300 including VAT, but before installation and network subscription, will be Jaguar's recommended tracking system for all its XJ8, XK8 and S Type models.

The system works like an electronic homing device. A covert radio transmitter is hidden in one of 30 places in the car and communicates via a terrestrial transmission system. When activated the transmitter sends an inaudible radio signal to alert Tracker's 24 hour Control Centre.
