Former PowerPlace sale director Wayne Tonge lands new role at commercial property broker

Commercial property broker Keelan Westall - part of Barbon Insurance Group - has hired Wayne Tonge as head of business.

Tonge will be responsible for driving sales for both Keelan Westall and its let property insurance scheme BIBALet. His remit will also cover underwriting, marketing and operations.

Prior to joining Keelan Westall, he was sales director at PowerPlace where he helped grow GWP from £1.3m to £14.1m in the first year.

“Keelan Westall already has a fantastic proposition and people that can help support and add value to brokers and their clients, but the reality is that it has to grow significantly to meet Group targets,” said Tonge.

“As a result, we need to increase awareness of the brand and its products, strengthen service standards across all areas of the business, and ensure we are providing the right service to the right broker. A big task, but I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.”

Nick Sharp, managing director of Barbon’s property & commercial division added: "Wayne has the leadership abilities, sales expertise and understanding of the insurance and financial services industries to help Keelan Westall fully capture the potential of the commercial property market.

"We are confident that he will help position the business for further long-term success."

Meanwhile, Keelan Westall has overhauled its website - www.keelan-westall.co.uk.

Lisa Feaver, head of broker services at Keelan Westall, said: “As a modern, service-led business, we feel it is important to use all of the tools at our disposal to make life easier for our clients and business partners.

"The upgraded website is in keeping with this approach and with our four core values – courtesy, accuracy, relationships and improvement – and reflects the company’s commitment to being the best in its field.”
