Adjusters from Ashworth Mairs Group saved Glasgow industrial giants millions of pounds, when they prevented the plug from being pulled on their water supply.

The team averted the disaster after a water main failed, flooding 27 houses in Grangemouth, Stirlingshire, to a depth of 2ft.

The damage is estimated to cost £250,000. However, it could have been worse had the adjusters not ensured the water supply to Grangemouth's industrial firms was maintained.

“This saved the firms and their liability insurers millions of pounds from business interruption losses,” said Ashworth Mairs Group spokesman Paul Greenaway.
