UK legal services firm Landwell has been appointed to advise on the cross-border insolvency of Folksam International, the reinsurance arm of one of Sweden's largest insurers.
Folksam International went into administration in May. Landwell UK has been instructed to advise on the UK aspects of the project following the appointment of Rolf Abjornsson, a partner in Landwell Swedish network firm Hellstrom and Partners.
Rolf Abjornsson is the liquidator of Aterforsakring AB Luap, formerly known as Folksam International Insurance AB (publ). Luap, which carried out business in Sweden and through branch offices in the UK and Singapore, went into liquidation on 22 May 2002.
The Landwell UK team is led by insolvency and restructuring partner Celia Gardiner, corporate partner Mark Satterly, and litigation assistant Ian Carson.
