Liberty International Underwriters has recruited Ray Miller as VP for marine, energy and construction

Liberty International Underwriters (LIU), a division of Liberty Mutual Group, has recruited Ray Miller as vice president for marine, energy and construction.

Miller will be in charge of managing London’s oil and gas underwriting unit reporting to Michael Gosselin, the head of LIU London’s marine, energy and construction division. Miller will be responsible for development and expansion of the energy team covering Europe, Middle East, Africa, and South America.

Miller, who brings more than 40 years’ underwriting experience in the London Market, joined Liberty from XL where he has worked for the past three-and-a-half years as deputy manager of the London energy department.

Commenting on the appointment LIU chief executive officer, Sean Rocks, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Ray to Liberty. This is an excellent time to join the company, and I know that Ray, with his extensive industry experience and knowledge, will be invaluable to us in our future growth and development of the Marine, Energy and Construction product lines”.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
