Bob Scott has been appointed a non-executive director of the world's sixth largest broker, Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT).
CGNU's former chief executive, who won the Insurance Times Lifetime Achievement Award last week, will join the company from 1 January.
Tony Hobson and Geoffrey Howe also join the board as non-executive directors.
Scott said JLT had approached him mid-year about the post. He added: "I'm proud to be supporting a British broker."
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
