Safeonline snaups up SAMIAN Underwriting Agencies
Safeonline LLP, the independent Lloyd’s insurance broker, has acquired SAMIAN Underwriting Agencies, the specialist intellectual property MGA.
The deal will see all staff and business transfer into a new division within Safeonline, which will trade under the SAMIAN Underwriting Agency brand.
SAMIAN will continue to function as an underwriting MGA representing various Lloyd’s syndicates and insurance companies.
David Umbers, partner at Safeonline, said: “We have always valued SAMIAN’s expertise in this area and by bringing it together with Safeonline’s distribution platform we look forwrad to seeing this division go from strength to strength”.
SAMIAN will continue to focus on Intellectual property risks, such as infringement liability, contractual indemnities, Reps & Warranties, enforcement risks and first party loss of revenue or asset value.
“The SAMIAN team look forward to providing brokers around the world with improved service, easier access to expertise and enhanced coverage and limits as a result of this aquisition,” saod Ian Lewis, who becomes a director of the new division.
