US-based IT company Business Objects has developed a "business intelligence" (BI) portal for Macif, the French personal lines insurer.
The BI portal was made to give Macif's 7,500 employees access to a dashboard filled with the latest statistics on its members, policies and rates.
This allows the company to fine-tune its insurance packages to better meet the needs of its customers.
Macif vice-president Jean-Michel Monnereau said: "Business Objects has given us new ways to understand and direct our policies, providing benefits to our company and our customers and giving us a tremendous competitive advantage.
"By using BI solutions, we now know our policy holders better and that helps to foster loyalty among our customers.
"We are also able to do a more fine-grained analysis of industry pricing policies. By allowing everyone in the company access to this information, we have increased the capabilities and decision making power of our workforce."
Business Objects is a provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions.
The company has more than 14,000 customers in over 80 countries. The company's stock is publicly traded on Nasdaq and Euronext Paris. It is included in the SBF 120 and IT CAC 50 French stock market indices.
Business intelligence lets organisations access, analyse and share information internally with employees and externally with customers, suppliers and partners.
It helps organisations improve operational efficiency, build profitable customer relationships and develop differentiated product offerings.
