Global software company MapInfo has signed a deal to strengthen technology standards for the insurance industry.
Teaming up with ACORD (Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development), the intelligence solutions provider will develop industry data standards.
Several of the UK's leading insurance companies use MapInfo to identify high-risk locations and test catastrophy scenarios.
MapInfo vice president Bill Potts said: "By joining ACORD and participating in the development of industry-wide standards, MapInfo will further strengthen its contributions to the insurance industry."
