Emma Brown joins from Allied World to boost non-marine property division

Markel International has appointed Emma Brown as senior underwriter in its non-marine property division.

Brown is on the open market team and is writing US & International business alongside Paul Cullum and Adrian Giles.

She joins from Allied World, where she concentrated on writing International Primary business.

Prior to this Brown was international property underwriter at QBE.

Neil Flatman, managing director of non-marine property at Markel International, said: “I’m delighted to be working with Emma again – she brings considerable experience and talent and will be a valuable addition to our division.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
