Markel Corporation reported a 50% increase in net income for the three months to 30 June 2006.

The insurer said net income improved to $90.4m from $60.2m in the same period a year earlier.

The combined operating ratio improved to 86% compared to 95% in 2005.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
