Markel grows retail division with two senior hires
Markel UK, the retail division of Markel International, has appointed Dave Robson and Graham Morse as development underwriters specialising in social welfare.
Robson will focus on business in the north east and Morse will target the south coast of England.
Both join Markel from Ecclesiastical Insurance.
Steve Carroll, managing director of Markel UK, said: “To service the needs of our brokers we sought people with experience and gravitas to extend our distribution reach.
"Our social welfare business is growing rapidly and our policy of employing capable underwriters who are empowered to make decisions at the front line is paying dividends."
He added: "Social welfare is a key area of our business."
