Start-up wholesale broker Markerstudy has launched a net-rated motor add-on product giving drivers European breakdown and travel cover.

The company's Eurogold is priced at just £3.60 but the policy documents bear only the price the broker sells at, allowing the broker to decide the commission level.

The policy covers the full year of motor insurance anywhere in the European Union, plus Switzerland and Scandinavia. The car driver and four passengers are covered with personal travel insurance and the car also has Green Flag vehicle assistance and breakdown cover.

A single policy covers trips up to 31 days with a maximum of 90 days overseas in each year.

Administration is provided by email or PC disk, allowing the broker to key in the gross premium charged to the customer before producing the documents.

Markerstudy boss Kevin Spencer said: "It's a simple way for brokers to ensure they maintain good income streams." He is looking for brokers who believe they can sell Eurogold to 80% of their motor book.

Spencer said his firm would be announcing more products like Eurogold to help brokers.
