Marsh has strengthened its risk management practice in continental Europe, the Middle East and Africa with the appointment of former Aon director Bruce Trigg.

Trigg will head up the practice, which is responsible for providing bespoke solutions to Marsh's largest and most complex retail clients, focusing on the key areas of risk diagnosis, mitigation, retention and transfer.

He joins from Aon's global large corporate practice where he was responsible for its global worldwide network and global practice groups.

Between 2003 and 2005 he was executive director in charge of Aon's global practice groups, and from 1998 until 2006 he was a board member at Aon Holdings BV.

Alex Moczarski, chief executive for Marsh in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: “Bruce has a tremendous reputation in the market as an innovator and leader and will be a key part of our senior team.

“As risk becomes increasingly the responsibility of the boardroom, clients are looking for trusted advisers that can combine an understanding of their business with other key considerations such as regulatory and legislative developments, macroeconomic issues and the client's own financial circumstances when presenting risk solutions.

“As we seek to broaden our offering, Bruce's broad and deep experience of clients at the highest level, and across geographies, will be a tremendous asset.”
