’We have refocused and redesigned the cover so legal services club is increasing the relevance and enhancing the role of personal legal expenses insurance as an important and valuable add-on solution,’ says managing director

Addept Insurance has launched an expanded personal legal expenses insurance offering.

Called legal services club, the proposition was developed to broaden the coverage available from a personal legal expenses product by providing advice, support and insurance protection on a wider range of contentious and non-contentious matters.

This includes conveyancing, matrimonial matters, divorce and wills and power of attorney.

The first legal services club scheme will be launched with Atec Group and is part of the recently announced migration of the group’s legal expenses and ancillary insurance portfolio to Addept Insurance from Arc.

Addept Insurance will continue to enhance the offering, including improving customer accessibility to the broader range of services with a digital-first approach via an online legal concierge.

‘Increasing the relevance’

The proposition responds to the latest FCA value measures data, which revealed continuing low levels of claims frequency and acceptance rates for current home or personal legal expenses products.

Richard Finan, managing director at Addept Insurance, said: “The FCA data raises questions about the value of these traditional products.

”Legal services club has been developed to provide wider cover and support by responding to more of the real needs of customers. We have refocused and redesigned the cover so legal services club is increasing the relevance and enhancing the role of personal legal expenses insurance as an important and valuable add-on solution.”
