Arch UK announces two senior underwriting appointments

Arch UK’s regional division has appointed Alex Turner as its new national production lead.

Turner will be responsible for working with the underwriting, claims and transformation teams across the insurer’s branch network to develop products and enhance broker service.

He takes on the role after spending the last two years as the firm’s branch manager for Colchester operations.

Before Arch, Turner was a branch sales manager at Axa.

In his new role, he will report to Steve Bashford, chief executive at Arch UK’s regional division.

Bashford said: “Turner’s leadership skills and track record of embedding operational efficiency make him a perfect fit for this new position.

“He will play a central role in ensuring a unified approach throughout our branch network, enabling us to provide even greater value to our brokers and their clients.”

Second appointment 

With Turner having been promoted, David Mann has taken on his old role of branch manager for Colchester.

The role will see Mann take responsibility for overseeing all underwriting and operational activities in Colchester, while delivering on Arch’s strategy to enhance broker service and expand its presence in the East Anglia region.

He joins the firm from Victor Insurance UK, where he was most recently head of sales and distribution.

Before this, he served as the head of market sales at Marsh Networks.

Bashford said: “Mann brings an invaluable combination of underwriting and broking expertise to our Colchester team.

“I am confident that, under his leadership, we will continue our growth trajectory in the region and further increase our relevance to our broker partners.”
