The broker has ’clear specialisms that has earned the respect of its longstanding client-base over many decades’, says chief executive

Ardonagh Advisory has acquired Southport Insurance Brokers Limited (SIB) to strengthen is presence in the North West.

Founded in 1965, SIB provides cover across a range of risks and has expertise in the industrial, care and agricultural sectors.

Its team of around 20 employees provide support from the firm’s Southport base.

“SIB is a high-quality regional broker with clear specialisms that has earned the respect of its longstanding client-base over many decades by delivering excellent service,” Richard Tuplin, chief executive of Advisory Insurance Broking, said.

“Within Ardonagh Advisory we’ve developed real expertise in giving our new businesses everything they need to remain client centric, while also giving them the platform to reach the next level.”

‘Great home’

As part of the deal, SIB managing director Ian Robertson will continue to lead the business.

He will be supported by his existing management team.

“I’m looking forward to working with Ian and the team and supporting SIB Insurance’s onward success as part of Advisory,” Tuplin said.

Roberston added that Ardonagh Advisory was a “great home” for SIB, with the transaction providing opportunities to grow.

“It’s fair to say that our businesses share a lot of common values and I know that we are going to enjoy a long and successful future together,” he said.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to our fantastic team and to all our clients who have been there throughout our journey and we look forward to supporting them into the future.”
