She leaves Hiscox after almost a year

AXA UK is set to appoint Shali Vasudeva as its new chief operating officer.

Vasudeva has nominated for the newly created role, with her appointment subject to regulatory approval.

She joins from Hiscox where she has been group business change director since March last year.

Vasudeva will join the management committee of AXA UK and Ireland and she will report direct to AXA UK’s chief executive Claudio Gienal. She is due to take up the role officially on 1 March this year.

In the role AXA said she will be responsible for delivering a more robust operational stability across the business and lead a transformation office to support the operating companies in simplifying AXA UK and Ireland’s operations.

Gienal said: “Her track record speaks for itself and I, along with the rest of the management committee, look forward to working with her and taking up future challenges for the benefit of our customers and members.”

Vasudeva’s previous jobs include seven years at Prudential serving as executive director in operations and commercial director.

Prior to this she was development director at RR Donnelley UK for over two years.

AXA XL moved its EU arm to Dublin ahead of Brexit, and it also partnered with tech firm – Expert Systems in a bid to reduce the time assessing property risks.
