Premier specialises in car and commercial vehicle policies for rural areas

BGL Group has added Premier Underwriting to its insurer panel.

Premier Underwriting specialises in car and commercial vehicle policies, focusing on those customers who live outside of cities, and currently writes around £60m of motor insurance business for its partners across the UK.

BGL now works with 17 insurers and has both panel and solus underwriting models in place for its brands.

Andy Pointon, director of insurance and aggregation at BGL Group, said: “Working with a market leading panel of insurer partners is vital for BGL. Premier Underwriting has a reputation for agile pricing within customer demographics that align well to those of BGL’s own brands and our affinity partners.

“The addition of Premier to our panel ensures we are bringing our customers competitively priced products, without compromising on quality.”

Premier Underwriting chief executive Paul Gray said: “BGL has an enviable and significant customer base across a strong portfolio of brands, so we are delighted to offer Premier’s underwriting services to the Group.

“Our aim is to help increase BGL’s market competitiveness and due to the scale of our pricing, we are confident that the partnership can drive significant results for both our own and BGL’s strategic growth targets.”
