Brown and Brown Europe has confirmed that it rounded off 2024 with the purchase of Addingstone Insurance Solutions.
Based in Hampshire, Addingstone is a broker that specialises in commercial and property insurance.
The firm’s website says: “We have developed our market access so you will only need one point of contact for all of your insurance and protection needs.
“As one of the few remaining independent brokers, our team of experienced experts are able to be dynamic and flexible to your needs.”
In a short statement sent to Insurance Times, Brown and Brown Europe said it was looking forward to the opportunities acquiring the firm would bring.
It said: “We can confirm that Brown and Brown Europe acquired Addingstone in December and we look forward to the opportunities this partnership will bring.”
2024 deals
Brown and Brown Europe, which ranked 11th in Insurance Times’ Top 50 Brokers 2024 report, announced a range of deals last year.

This includes several regional acquisitions, such as Crosby Insurance in November 2024, which offers a mix of personal, business and commercial property propositions to clients.
Other acquisitions made during 2024 include that of trade credit broker CI Group Holdings, health and employee benefits specialist Drewberry and Rollins Insurance Brokers, which was established in 1945 and operated as a family owned business.
His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
