’The cyber hub is a relaxed space for brokers to learn about the pro-active levers that can help their clients prevent and recover from cyber attacks,’ says head

Specialist insurer CFC has teamed up with Biba to design a new cyber hub for the broker trade body’s 2024 conference.

The hub, which will be available to all attendees, will showcase the latest developments in cyber technology, offer experts insights and provide case studies that can be learnt from.

The goal is to help delegates understand the key components of a cyber policy and come up with new strategies to sell such insurance to UK businesses.

Shaune Worrall, deputy head of general insurance at Biba, said: “Not everyone is confident to talk cyber insurance.

“The cyber hub is a relaxed space for brokers to learn about the pro-active levers that can help their clients prevent and recover from cyber attacks.

“The experts will de-bunk some myths and show how accessible cyber insurance as a service really is.”

Access

This came after the government estimated in 2023 that there were 2.39m instances of cybercrime and 49,000 instances of cyber fraud affecting UK businesses.

Those who use the cyber hub will have access to CFC’s team of cyber underwriters, security experts, incident responders and claims adjusters to help them with queries.

Pat Brice, distribution director at CFC, added: “As Biba’s official cyber scheme provider for 20 years, we’re delighted to sponsor the cyber hub, a space for all brokers to develop their cyber knowledge.

“We’re looking forward to taking brokers on a journey in this immersive experience and equipping them with the expertise and skills to educate clients on cyber threats and the critical value of cyber insurance.”
