Spinningfields-based rooftop restaurant 20 Stories is the longstanding home of insurer Zurich’s day one afterparty. The sky-high venue won the regional prize for Best Restaurant in Manchester 2023 at last year’s British Restaurant Awards, held in September 2023.

Brokers attending Zurich’s event can expect impressive panoramic views of the city alongside modern British cuisine and a selection of beverages.

Society

Street food lovers will be excited to hear that commercial insurer Markel is hosting its evening shindig on 15 May 2024 at Society on Barbirolli Square.

This laid-back venue houses four independently owned kitchens, as well as a cocktail bar and specialist taproom, run by craft brewery Vocation, so Markel’s afterparty is sure to have something to suit every broker’s taste.

The Winter Garden at Kimpton Clocktower Hotel

The Winter Garden – located within Oxford Street’s Kimpton Clocktower Hotel – will this year play host to Markerstudy Group’s evening party after the first day of the Biba conference.

Decked out with fairy light adorned trees and muted sage coloured seating, this courtyard space is ideal for sophisticated cocktail drinking and gin sipping – especially as it is only a 10 minute walk from Biba’s exhibition floor.

Where next?

Biba conference delegates will also spot Insurance Times at trendy Exhibition MCR to mingle with Arch Insurance staff, the rooftop bar at Hotel Gotham to catch up with Pen Underwriting and The Edwardian Manchester hotel for dinner with Ageas.

For those arriving in Manchester on 14 May 2024, CFC Underwriting will be socialising at St Peter’s Square-based bar The Anthologist.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
