MGA Commercial Express has appointed Gary Holmes as its new head of schemes development.

In this newly created position, Holmes will play an integral part in shaping the development and delivery of the firm’s schemes proposition, providing delegated broker authorities as it transitions to an MGU at the end of 2026.
Holmes joins from his position as head of property and casualty at Jensten Wholesale which he has held since 2024.
Duncan Pritchard, chief executive at Commercial Express, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Holmes to Commercial Express.
”This new role will be integral to the evolution of our technical underwriting team, working alongside our director of sales and distribution to produce a delegated authority proposition for our brokers as part of our evolution to MGU by year end.

Expertise
Prior to his role at Jensten Wholesale, Holmes served at Direct Line Group for over 15 years.

During this period, he took on the role as commercial underwriting product manager and underwriting chapter lead.
