Covéa Insurance has promoted Stephen Long to the role of chief operating officer (COO).

As COO, Long will lead the company’s claims, operations, IT and customer functions and keep his position on the executive committee.
“I’m delighted to be taking on the COO role,” he said.

We have a hugely talented team and we’ll continue to focus on being straight forward and easy to do business with, delivering consistently for our customers, brokers and partners and being a great place to work.

Experience
Long is currently in his 25th year with Covéa, having joined the business in 2001 as a graduate trainee.

Over the course of his career, he has held a wide range of roles across the organisation and was most recently claims IT and operations director.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
