The insurtech hopes the appointment will be ‘instrumental’ to its growth

Insurtech GoShorty has appointed Paul Moors as its new chairman.

Having made three senior appointments just last month (February 2023), GoShorty’s founder and managing director Andy Moody said the arrival of Moors as chairman would bring “significant additional strength to the executive board”.

“Paul is already a well-respected chairman and his depth of experience across the insurance industry will be instrumental to our growth over the coming years,” he added.

“We’re delighted to have him with us.”

Moors’ memoir

Moors brings over three decades of insurance industry experience to the role, having led Bollington Insurance Brokers from 1998 to 2017.

As chief executive at Bollington, he acquired F Wilsons Insurance Brokers with the support of Inflexion Private Equity Partners LLP in 2017, which then merged with the business to create Bollington Wilson Group.

During this time, GoShorty’s commercial director Phil Evans – who joined the insurtech in its latest senior recruitment move – was appointed by the Bollington Wilson Group as personal lines managing director.

The business was then bought by Gallagher’s UK retail division in January 2021.

Alongside Moors’ appointment to GoShorty, he will additionally remain at Gallagher as chairman of Your Business, which was renamed from Bollington Insurance Consultants in May 2003.

Moors served as managing director at Cleverley Hyde Corporate Risks and Cameron McDonald between 1990 and 1998.

GoShorty is a trading style of the Complex to Clear Group, which is an insurtech broker that was established in 2018 and is based in Stockport, Cheshire.
