The new appointee is looking forward to ’fulfilling [the firm’s] vision and achieving its goals for 2023 and beyond’

Data-focused insurance group Atec Group has appointed Ant Sherlock to the position of group distribution partnerships director.

The newly created role will see Sherlock work with the existing leadership team to help deliver the next phase of growth for the business, according to a statement.

Atec, which comprises several brands including broker Ceta Insurance, insurance network InsureMy and MGA Arkel Underwriting, has grown policy numbers by 90% in the last two years.

The new appointee said he was ready to help the company hit its goals as the business embarks on its next growth phase.

The 56 year old, who has 30 years of experience in the general insurance sector, started his career at Axa in 1996 and spent 18 years in various roles across the business.

These roles included business manager for the insurer’s commercial and personal intermediary and motor claims development manager.

He then worked at various firms, including most recently as head of sales and distribution at Ardonagh-owned Geo Personal Lines, where he was responsible for driving growth, income and target loss ratio performance across standard and non-standard household and let products.

Sherlock will join Atec in May.

Exciting time

Sherlock said he was looking forward to “fulfilling [the firm’s] vision and achieving its goals for 2023 and beyond”.

“I am really looking forward to joining this fast-growing business at such an exciting time,” he added.

“The growth Atec group has experienced over the past few years has been hugely impressive and given the breadth of knowledge within the business, its unique suite of products and its ability to utilise big data and real-time market intelligence puts it a step ahead of the rest.”

Atec chief executive Brendan Devine added that Sherlock’s knowledge and insurance industry network would be a “huge asset to the business”.

“Ant’s deep knowledge of the industry across multiple personal lines products has positioned him as a well-established authority within the field,” he said.

“His experience speaks for itself and his collaborative approach to culture and leadership will be instrumental in driving the growth of our Atec portfolio.

“This appointment reflects our commitment to investing in exceptional individuals at what is an exciting time for the Atec Group, following a record year in 2022.

”Ant, as a strong product expert and leader, will be able to provide the best possible solutions for an expanding team and market.”
