‘They have a shared commitment to challenge the status quo,’ says group chief executive
Partners& has acquired Bedford-based insurance broker M&DH as it continues to grow its presence in the SME market.

Founded in 2002, M&DH specialises in the construction and manufacturing sectors and employs more than 70 people. The business will become a regional hub for Partners& across the Northern Home Counties.
The acquisition forms part of Partners& growth strategy, which is focused on the underserved SME market and attracting specialist talent.
Phil Barton, group chief executive at Partners&, said: “M&DH is an exceptional business. They have a shared commitment to challenge the status quo and change the perception of the insurance broking industry.”
He added that the broker’s investment in talent, including its academy programme, aligned with Partners&’s ambition to attract more young people into the insurance sector.
Culture focus
Richard Hames, speaking on behalf of M&DH’s board of directors, said: “From our very first conversations, it was clear that the culture, values and long-term vision of Partners& closely aligned with our own.”

He added that the transaction would allow the business to deliver on its staff share option scheme, enabling employees to “share in the success they have helped create”.
Hames said the deal would create new opportunities for employees while maintaining the firm’s client-focused approach.
He added that joining Partners& would provide enhanced opportunities for career development and collaboration across the wider group, while assuring clients they would continue to receive the same level of service backed by the additional expertise and resources of Partners&.
