Regan’s shock exit has left QBE looking for new boss - but an interim CEO is appointed

Head of international relations Richard Pryce is made interim chief executive as QBE searches for a long-term replacement to Pat Regan.

Pat Regan, who was hotly-tipped at one stage to take over the helm at Aviva, left QBE last month after a complaint by a female employee and then an external investigation.

Following the results of the probe, the board decided that their chief executive’s communications “did not meet the standard set out in the group code of ethics and conduct”.

Pryce joined in 2012 and is considered a safe pair of hands as QBE continues its search to replace Regan, who had been there three years.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
