It plans to review its products for personal lines this year

RSA is looking to improve its offering for personal lines brokers following a disappointing two stars rating in the Insurance Times Five Star Rating Personal Lines survey 2019/2020 for the second year running.

It received two stars in all five of the areas explored in the survey which include claims – fairness of settlement and speed; underwriting – expertise, flexibility and support; quality of cover; policy documentation – accuracy and transparency and relationship handling and management.

Two of these areas – underwriting and relationship handling, RSA received a rating of 3.35 and 3.44.

The insurer said it plans to review its products for personal lines brokers this year to make sure it is providing effective cover.

Kay Martin, managing director, personal lines at RSA told Insurance Times: “While we were disappointed with the feedback from the survey, we are already looking at ways we can improve our offering and service for personal lines brokers.

“This includes investing in our underwriting and claims capabilities and reviewing our products to ensure brokers are getting what they need.”

Martin joined RSA in May last year, having previously been chief executive of retail and niche distribution at Towergate.
