It will deploy teams to assess the damage when it is safe to proceed

Sedgwick is working with the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) as bushfires continue across New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

This includes the organisation being represented at the ICA Recovery Centre in Victoria.

The loss adjuster released a response update stating that it has activated its catastrophe plan and has adequate resources ready to assist with claims assessments for its clients.

The announcement follows the wildfires that have destroyed 1,298 homes in Australia so far, wiping out half a billion animals and plants.

Catastrophe offices have been set up in Wollongong and Traralgon, while temporary offices will be erected in Bateman’s Bay and Bairnsdale.

A team of adjusters from around the country have been deployed. The team intends to assess damaged properties this week, although in most instance this will not be possible under the current circumstances; Sedgwick said that it was in communication with the appropriate authorities to ascertain when it is safe to proceed.

Assessing teams have been confirmed in Bairnsdale and Sarsfield this Wednesday, as these areas will be accessible.

Sedgwick has been contacted for further comment.
