‘By combining our expertise in general insurance with ActiveQuote’s specialist knowledge in PMI, we’re making it easier for advisers to deliver holistic protection,’ says director

Source has partnered with Howden-owned ActiveQuote on a new private medical insurance (PMI) referral route aimed at improving advisers’ ancillary income opportunities and expanding the range of protection products available on its platform.

The Cardiff-based distributor said the initiative allowed advisers to refer clients for PMI immediately after submitting a home or landlord insurance quote at any point via the Source platform.

Jonathan Pinkerton, finance and insurer relationship director at Source, said the collaboration strengthened the broker and client relationship at a time of rising demand for additional protection options.

“At Source, we were always looking to add value to our broker community,” Pinkerton said.

“By combining our expertise in general insurance with ActiveQuote’s specialist knowledge in PMI, we were making it easier for advisers to deliver holistic protection solutions.

”This partnership reflected our shared commitment to simplifying the advice process, strengthening client relationships and helping more people access the right cover at a time when demand for flexible, comprehensive protection had never been greater.”

’Straightforward route’

The partnership means advisers can bring a second ancillary product into the same workflow as home and landlord insurance. Source said this creates a straightforward route into a growing market without requiring advisers to develop a specialist PMI capability themselves.

ActiveQuote managing director Rob Saunders said the integration offered a more connected journey for brokers seeking to broaden their protection conversation.

Saunders said: “We were excited to partner with Source to give advisers seamless access to private medical insurance for their clients.

”By integrating PMI referrals within the Source platform, advisers could provide a more complete protection package. This partnership underscored our commitment to supporting advisers with tools that made delivering comprehensive protection easier.”
