Insurance Times rounds up the most significant appointments, hires and leadership developments from 1 to 4 September 2026
Starting off the week, Tokio Marine HCC’s cyber and professional lines group (CPLG) appointed Brian Alva as senior vice president of underwriting to lead its cyber business.

Tokio Marine HCC said that in his new role, Alva will “focus on strengthening CPLG’s cyber underwriting capabilities, developing talent, advancing portfolio and product strategy and deepening alignment across underwriting, claims, actuarial, data science, risk services and distribution”.
Then, Addept Insurance Services appointed Liz Althorpe as its new claims manager.
In her new role, Althorpe will be responsible for strategic and operational oversight of the claims function across Addept’s diverse portfolio of legal expenses and ancillary insurance products.
Following this, Macbeth appointed Chris Withers as head of schemes and market placement in a newly created role designed to support the broker’s long-term growth plans.
Withers joins the business with more than 35 years of insurance industry experience spanning distribution, schemes, MGAs and the real estate sector.
After that, Gallagher appointed Steve Munday as managing partner for natural resources as it continues to expand its renewable energy capabilities.
In his new position, Munday will focus on developing Gallagher’s client offering, capabilities and portfolio within its renewable energy business.
Finally, MS Amlin appointed Sarah Reidy as commercial director in a newly created role aimed at strengthening broker partnerships and supporting growth across the Lloyd’s reinsurer.
Reidy will report to chief underwriting officer Martin Burke and act as a link between MS Amlin’s underwriting teams and the senior leadership of its broker partners.
