Vipr appoints non-executive chair following Bridgepoint investment

Vipr Solutions has appointed Tom Boucher as non-executive chair following Bridgepoint Growth’s investment in the specialty insurance software provider.

Boucher brings more than 30 years’ experience across software, technology, data and insurance. He will work with co-founder and chief executive Paul Templar and the management team as Vipr enters its next phase of growth.

His appointment follows Bridgepoint Growth’s investment in the business, with Vipr planning to expand internationally, develop its AI capabilities and simplify and accelerate client adoption of its platform.

Templar said Boucher’s experience would support Vipr as it expands into new markets and develops its technology.

“Boucher understands both the complexity of specialty insurance and what it takes to grow a software business,” he said.

“His experience will be valuable as we bring Vipr to more markets, deepen our capabilities and make it easier for clients to get the information they need from their insurance data.”

Focus on delegated authority

Boucher has previously served in chief financial officer and chair roles, helping lead four private equity-backed exits.

He currently sits on the board of private equity-backed transportation software provider Goal Systems.

Boucher said the global delegated authority insurance market was growing rapidly but that MGAs, brokers, carriers and reinsurers remained “under-served” by software and data providers.

He added that Vipr was “poised to accelerate its growth” through operational efficiency and improved insight for clients.

Vipr provides software covering areas including compliance and onboarding, data ingestion and processing, workflow management and data analytics for the delegated authority market.
