Hughes & Company, the insurance broker in Northern Ireland, has announced extensive plans for 2006 to expand its branch network by 50%.

Leslie Hughes, Partner in Hughes & Company, said: “Over the years we have worked hard to build a brand in Northern Ireland which offers stability and value with local offices and local people. There are a number of key locations across the region where we plan to establish a significant presence in order to make our products more accessible to a much wider target audience.”

Mr Hughes' Partner, Jim Bowers, added: “In this local market a local presence and personal contact plays an important part in the relationship, so having a profile in the key centres of population remains very important. We are on course to announce the opening of a further three offices in the first half of 2006.”

In conjunction with their high street expansion plans Hughes & Company also expect to see internet business to grow rapidly and are currently further developing a website to provide home and travel insurance.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
