NIG was voted insurer of the year by brokers for 2002 at the Insurance Times Awards held last Friday in Birmingham. And Alan Cleary, a UN commissioner dealing with claims arising from the Gulf War, picked up the lifetime achievement award.
Over 1,000 guests attended this year's awards. Fortis was motor insurer of the year, Zurich picked up personal lines insurer of the year and NIG was voted commercial lines insurer of the year.
NIG won best general insurer sponsored by Liberata, above, while Alan Cleary, right and centre, was honoured with the lifetime achievement award sponsored by DAS. For a full list of winners see pages 10 and 11.
