One in 20 snow-loving holidaymakers will make a claim this year for a skiing or snow-boarding accident, according to Asda travel insurance
Around 1.2 million people in the UK will head for the ski slopes, and if every skier had travel insurance, this would equate to some 60,000 injury claims, the company said.
Over half of skiing accidents are knee or lower limb injuries, for which hospital treatment can cost between £4,000 and £7,000.
