Oval to support promising swimmer ahead of London Olympics
Oval is sponsoring Tom Allen, a British swimming hopeful for the London 2012 Olympic games.
18 year old swimmer Allen is from Hope in North Wales, near Wrexham where Oval has a large presence.
Allen competes in long distance and open water events, which have recently been added to the Olympic competition.
Oval managing director Jeff Herdman said: “Oval is excited to be helping this young and promising athlete in his career and are hoping to see him qualify for next year’s games.”
Having competed in several international standard swimming races, Alenn is now based in Swansea and trains at the British Swimming’s Swansea training centre.
Allen's achievements include three British swimming records in his age category, five gold medals at the 2009 British Swimming Championships, a silver medal at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games and a bronze medal at the Open Water World Cup in Dubai.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
